How laser hair removal works
Laser targets the hair follicle below the skin using controlled light energy. With Soprano ICE Platinum (SHR), the applicator is moved using a gentle "in-motion" technique that gradually warms the follicle to reduce hair growth while keeping the skin comfortable. The Platinum handpiece combines three wavelengths to reach different depths and structures within the follicle for a more complete approach.
How many sessions do I need?
Most clients need a series of sessions because hair grows in cycles and laser is most effective during the active growth phase. As a general guide, many areas take 6–10 sessions, spaced a few weeks apart. Dense/coarse hair (common on back/chest/beard line) can respond very well, but some areas may still need occasional maintenance depending on hormones and individual hair growth.
Before your appointment (prep)
Shave the area 12–24 hours before your appointment (don't wax/sugar/pluck).
Avoid sun exposure/tanning on the area before sessions.
Arrive with clean, dry skin (no lotion/oils; no deodorant for underarms).
Tell your technician about any new medications or recent skin treatments.
Aftercare (first 24–48 hours)
Avoid hot tubs/saunas/steam rooms and very hot showers for 24–48 hours.
Skip intense workouts/heavy sweating for 24 hours.
Use gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer if dry; avoid harsh exfoliants for a couple of days.
Apply SPF on treated areas that will be exposed.
Mild redness is normal - avoid picking or scrubbing.
Who is a good candidate?
Laser works best when treatment settings are matched to your skin tone and hair type. In general, people with darker hair see the strongest response, but modern systems can treat a wide range of skin tones safely when configured properly.
